Though we are in the process of producing steamed rice as our plant is under construction and we are presently supplying refined raw rice instead of steamed rice but we will soon be supplying steamed rice too.
Steamed Rice is a type of processed rice specially produced with the technology of improving the quality characteristics of rice. In this process, the brown rice is soaked in water and then treated with hot steam under pressure. After that, the grain is dried and it is polished.
As an output of steaming grains of rice, it becomes amber-yellow colored and become translucent. Steamed rice has several benefits.
The steaming process helps to retain 80% of vitamins and minerals contained in the rice shell while also decreasing the brittleness of the rice grains. The yellow color entailed by steamed rice vanishes at the time of preparation, and it turns into a snow-white, like polished white rice. However, the cooking time of the steamed rice is 25-30 minutes as the grains become tougher and takes longer time to get cooked in comparison to the traditional rice.
Did you know? Steamed grain rice doesn’t stick together after boiling. Another advantage of steamed rice is -it doesn’t lose its taste and texture even on reheating.
